The studio

Who we are

HexChit Games is currently one person, Scott Jennings. We work with artists and other developers on an as-needed basis.

The HexChit Engine

The HexChit Engine is based on Godot, a free, open-source cross-platform engine used for game development. Our games run on Mac OS (where they are originally developed), Windows and Linux. At this time we have no plans to port the HexChit Engine to the PDP-11.

What we make

We take games very seriously and maintain our independence so as to make the games we want to play. Hopefully you want to as well!

Political considerations

It is important to note that titles issued in these series will be politically opinionated because the author/designer is. Claiming to have no opinions about a military/political conflict is, in itself, an opinion.

For this among other reasons, we do not plan to try to contract with a larger publisher, so as to retain complete autonomy in production of titles that issue forth from it.

The designer/author has spent the past 40 years expressing varying degrees of disgust with the wargaming/military simulations community's fascination with Nazi Germany in general and the Waffen SS in particular. Games which feature them are, to put it mildly, low priority for development. The world will probably survive without a 20th Operation Barbarossa game or a 60th Battle of the Bulge game. Instead, the plan is to cover interesting conflicts that most Western audiences are unfamiliar with.
